Loft Haul – Spring 2017

Gotta watch the above vid for these pictures to come alive!

Ann Taylor Loft Haul – Ann Taylor Loft Sale

Loved my shopping haul at Ann Taylor Loft today!  I must say that I was so surprised with their Spring fabrics and color patterns for 2017.

First Loft item was on sale: I found these cute Breezy Floral Riviera shorts on sale with an extra 40% off to make them only $26.  That price means they’re still around and will be on sale for a while.  These have a 4″ inseam which is conservative on my 5’8″ legs.

Are y’all shopping for Spring Clothing pieces this Spring yet?  POP over to my friend Addy B’s channel and check out her preteen Spring outfit ideas.  Addy is one of the most creative people I know.  I love how she expresses herself creatively.  Give her a looksy!

I tried the mustard tank because I can usually rock the color mustard.  Even though it’ll never be Pantone’s Color of the Year, I’m loving it.  I love how the tank under this hangs snugly and looks like it has a tiny tiny bit of sheen poking through this sewing detail.  The top fits TTS and especially in the back.  No clinging in my normal size Medium.  I’m 5’8” and wear a 10 or 8 at Loft.

At Loft it helps to shop smart.  Today, I only needed to spend $50 to get $25 Loft Cash.  Since the gorgeous mustard top was $54, I decided to wait and buy it once it goes on a better sale.

Grabbed this bright coral red tee in the color Wildfire Red.  I have raved about their Vintage Soft tees for months.  I have white, off white, gray with pink polka dots and a long sleeved white one!

img_1082

I ended up getting a Large because I like the length.  The Medium fits my curves a little better, but this will do-especially at $18.  Bright red goes with my winter clothes-dark teal, navy cardigan, denim colors and white.   That’s also another reason I didn’t mind spending $18.

Look how good it goes with these deep beauty colors in these shorts.

img_1067

I found this beauty on Final Sale at Loft.  I’m still bitter that they don’t give you an extra 40% off the final sale anymore.  It fits perfectly TTS.  Check out the detailing, and this little bit of pucker right here gives it a shape AND keeps it from clinging in the back.  The draping of this will be perfect for a good pair of shorts or capris to carry you into spring.

I splurged at $18 to get this pineapple tee.  I like the scoop neck slash v-neck more than just scoop neck.  Pineapples scream summer, and they say Welcome as well as, “Stand tall.  Wear a crown.  Be sweet on the inside.”

I alMOST bought these gorgeous pants. Sunny and pure yellow!

img_1066These would be awesome work pants and would go with every.color.out.there.  But they were $70.  But they were 30% off, which would be an extra $21 off.  But, if I have my Loft Cash of $25, that’s more of a discount to me.  Also, the 10 was really roomy; it would work especially if I was going to eat out or be on vacation a few days and needed some fuller pants.  So I tried on the 10 Petite in white, and it was BEAUTIFUL!!!  But they’re see through.  The fit was wonderful.  And the fabric is oh. so. luxe.  Smooth but textured a tad.

Love this flowy shell tank because it’s a bright teal.  But I did not spend the money because the hem came up to high on the sides.  I want to be able to raise my hands and say, “Go team” and not worry about my tummy spare tires showing.  And that’s not worth $44 with 30% off any time of day.

img_1079

One movement by Loft last Fall which seemed manipulative, is during the Loft Cash time, nothing was full price.  And with Loft Cash, you can only use it on full price clothing.

My favorite piece of all is this Velvet Split Neck Shell.  It’s so soft and shiny but see through.  It looks great with a dark gray tank under.

What’s in my Travel Bag?

This YouTube video is about what is in my Carry On or Travel Case or Travel Bag?  For this long weekend trip, I’m packing in a back pack.

First up is my Chap Stick that my neighbor made with her own Beeswax!!  Her Etsy page is The Just Bee Well Shop.  It lasts FOREVER!

I keep cheap ear buds or Skull Candy ones in a toiletry bag for easy storage.  I use this ID Case as my wallet.

Floss Sticks, a fingernail file (emory board-where’d that name come from), and my Happy Pills box go with me on every flight.

For makeup brushes, I use one my sweet mama made me.  This flat roll up one is like mine.  But here’s one that allows you to take the lid off and stand up when you’re at your final destination.  I prefer mine to lie flat.

Aah, my Japonesque eyeshadow palette!  You know those purchases that you’re so glad you bought way back when?  This is mine.  And my Becca Under Eye Brightener.  There’s also my new favorite liquid eyeliner.  I’ve about used up this sample size of Eyeko Black Liner.  I use this when I’m going to be on an airplane or at church where my eyes water because of dry eye.  I love my preservative free eye drops after flying and always travel with these.

I’m also packing my regular black eyeliner from Mary Kay because it is buildable and can smudge with my Ulta blue eyeshadow…with my Smudger Brush.  You just take a swipe of blue shadow and swipe it across your regular eyeliner, and it smudges just right.

New Product Alert!

I’m loving this New Camelback water bottle because I don’t have to drink out of a straw.  You know how on most Camelbacks, you suck this thick straw?  I prefer drinking out of this new one.  It’s like a canteen, doesn’t leak, and the lid is attached by this cute strap.

Oh my word, this is a game changer.

I borrowed my hubby’s Power Bank Charger.  The video shows you how easy it is to use.  It gives your phone one full charge in less than an hour.  So, when I’m on the plane, this will recharge my phone…even if I’m watching something.  But I am SO getting this pineapple one too.  The cord comes with FYI.

My First Spray Tan What Do I Do??

What is a spray tan?  What do you do for a spray tan?  How long does a spray tan last?

I’ve wondered how it works for a couple of years ever since my friend Beth got one.  Since it was FREE, I decided to share my experience with y’all!

Fears

I was so worried!  I didn’t want to look orange.  I didn’t want anyone to spray a hose on me while I was naked.

I didn’t know how in the world I was to breathe while colored mist is blowing onto my face.

Was I going to be cold?  Would my clothes be orange?  Will it take forever to dry off?

before

Before You Go

Think spa atmosphere.  You stand in a very nice shower stall.  It sprays you and dries you in less than 3 minutes.

img_0893

Once or twice a year, a tanning place or a tanning spa may throw a weekend special right before spring.  So call around to see if there’s one near you offering a special.

I went to Glo Sun Spa in The Woodlands, and Taylor explained everything to me so that I can explain it to you.

The morning or night before you go, you’re supposed to exfoliate and take off all makeup, deodorant, and lotion.  You can see that my face absorbed a lot of the color, and that is the only place I exfoliated.  Don’t know if that’s why it was darker than everything else or what.

Wear grubby loose clothes in case color does transfer.  Mine did not.  Get the LIGHTEST color shade if it’s your first time.

When You Arrive

You walk into this spa room with Taylor, and she will show you this Barrier Gel that feels like conditioner that you put on your palms, cuticles, nails and under your feet.  You don’t want a tan on your palms or your nails.  So this gel is a barrier.

They have hair rubber bands and shower cap.  When you put the hair cap on, let some of your hair show so that you don’t have a line of tan and the your scalp showing.  It will NOT stain your hair.

Then Taylor got in the stall.  My video above will show the exact positions.

The very loud and clear speaker tells you what to do only when you push the button…you’re all barrier-ed up and standing in the right position.  Then you push the start button and it says, “Prepare for primer.”  And you hear the spray like a second before it gets to your face.  And the nozzles start at your face for maybe a second and a half and then move down.

It feels like a cool mist but it’s not a stinging mist.  The nozzles move down in like 5 seconds from your face to your feet.  Then the voice says, “Turn around for primer 2.”

Then it says “Turn around for position number 1 of color.”  Taylor showed me the 4 positions.  Front, right egyptian, left egyptian, and back.  Then it says, “Stay here for drying round 1.  Stay here for drying round 2.  Turn around for drying round 1.  Stay here for drying round 2.  Tanning is complete.”

**Oh, and the door in the stall doesn’t close so you don’t feel claustrophobic at all.

What I Didn’t Like

After 24 hours I looked too bronzed.  My solution to that would be to just get the next lowest color since it’s my first application in the middle of Winter.

It also left a lot of staining on my foot.  But my solution would be to put more Barrier solution on my feet to block the color.

Final Thoughts

You learn so much after the first trial.  Try it if you get a huge discount!  It’d be so fun to do it with a bunch of gals.

Let me know if you glo!

Key Steps to Organize Your Pantry

How to Organize Your Pantry – Key Steps for You

Ever picked up the peanut butter only to find a trail of ants leading to it?  That’s what made this LauriePOP Idea POP into my head.  Ewwwww!

Before we discuss the two ways to organize your pantry, please answer these three questions:

  1. Is it cluttered?
  2. Is it dirty?
  3. Do you need it to be more functional?

Key Step #1

Take everything out of the pantry.  It’s just like cleaning your closet-take everything out.

Key Step #2

Ask for help.  But tell them about key step #3.

Key Step #3

Set a timer for 10 minutes and start.  There’s nothing like finding bugs in your pantry to make you do it with a hustle in your bustle.

In my YouTube video above, you’ll see how I put everything back in.  Basically, just because it looks pretty doesn’t mean your pantry will now work for you.  Be smart; watch the video.

Here are products we highly recommend:

Cereal

For Flour and Sugar

For Coffee

For Snacks-deeper one I said I would link for you

Open/No lid Container for food coloring and chocolate candies

Label Maker

Salt Container

I really appreciate you watching my YouTube video above.  I’m better at explaining myself in person than in print ha.  I’m linking up today with Shelbee on the Edge.

Five Outfits for Travel – Airplane Outfits

Five Outfits for Travel

#1 Flowy dress by Roxy (on Amazon)

This dress is at least 3 inches below my fingertips, making it perfect for an airplane outfit!  Note that it has a low back so you will want to wear a cardigan over it or a sports bra.  I feel so confident in this and leggings.  Plus, I can wear it with sandals, sneakers or boots.  And I can wear it as a swim cover up!

#2 Easel Tunic Tank Extender (Amazon in all colors)

Talk about getting your bang for your buck.  No clinging fabric.  Plenty long enough with capri leggings or long leggings.  Goes with everything.  Goes under layers.  Looks cute with a t-shirt over it.  Can be worn by itself.

#3 Colored Jeans (linked to Loft)

I have the olive and black and love them.  I didn’t like the white or red because they got really loose after wearing them all day.

These colors go with everything.  You can dress them up or down.  Roll them up just a tad, and you have cute capris.

#4 Compression Leggings, Capris and Socks

These suckers hold you in!  And for airplane travel, I need them because my legs swell for some odd reason.

I love the capris for my tunics that I bring.  And the socks are so cute and can be worn under pants or jeans for constant compression.

These are Rise n Shine Compression Socks with eggs on one of the socks.  If you prefer just a basic black compression sock, here are some regular colors.  I bought these leggings; these are high waisted and fitted perfectly for keeping your blood flowing.

#5 Pleione Tops

This beautifully structured top is just lovely, casual and classy.  It looks great tucked in or hanging out.  And for being 5’8″ mine is almost long enough to wear as a tunic.  The front is a stiffer yet silky smooth material, while the back is a knit that doesn’t cling fabric.  LOVE this!  I’ve already worn it on one trip, and I can wear it with capris or jeans, etc.

They’re sold out waaa and only an XS is left at Nordstrom!  You can find this top in a similar style.

#6 Joggers from Target

These are almost as smooth as silk, but they’re not made of silk.  I don’t know what magic they put in these, but I was under their spell immediately.  LOVE these.  These are available, and I wear a Medium (usually a size 10).  It says they’re Juniors, but they were just on a back wall.

#7 Shoes for These Outfits

These Wild Diva shoes fit to a T.  There is arch support and some padding.  Let me just say that I’m VERY picky when it comes to walking around touring in comfortable shoes.  I used to feel so frumpy because I always wore tennis shoes to tour.  I vouch for these!  These are gray, but there’s a tan also.

Where are you going next?  What travel topics would you like me to research?  What are you wearing these days?
